There is a fairly serious, or at the very least vocal contingent of players who have been anxiously awaiting the release of Ezreal’s legendary skin, Pulsefire Ezreal. The skin is a pretty clear homage to the Mega Man series and, from the splash art, looks pretty cool. The above video popped up today, showing a player using the skin in game. The video only shows off his ult, but you can tell the animation has been given a healthy spark.
It’s hard to believe League of Legends has been out for two years now, but when I look at the number of matches I’ve played, I would hope it has been at least that long. I’ve played thousands of games across the different maps and game modes available and enjoyed the hell out of the game. It’s nice to see Riot getting excited about the phenomenon they’ve created. Apparently today should hold a few surprises for us players, not the least of which is the release of Surprise Party Fiddlesticks, the newest legendary skin in the league.
For those that don’t know, Surprise Party Fiddlesticks started as an idea on the forums. A summoner by the name “GreenEyedMonster” and his friends started yelling “Surprise!” one day in vent and so the idea was born. A couple months later and the skin is now live.
It’s awesome, by the way. I picked it up first thing this morning and have since seen it in just about every game. His ult is amazing, but it’s the little details that make it cool. His pinwheel spins while he’s channeling Drain. Drain looks like swirling streamers. He silences his enemies with a balloon animal. Absolutely amazing stuff.
I hope Riot hooked GreenEyedMonster and his friends up with some Riot points or at least a few skin codes. It’s very cool to see a community skin like this make it to live servers.

I had one and just one thought when I saw the Reverse Annie skin preview: That is awesome.
Then I thought about it some more and the following came up. I was thinking about snagging Frostfire Annie while she’s on sale, but that would mean buying more RP and I just don’t know if I want to do that right now. This, though, easily beats Frostfire for me, so I might have to wait for it to go on sale.
I’m also a little confused about the ways Riot continues to blur the lines between legendary and common skins. There are plenty of legendary skins that need a serious overhaul just to keep up with some of the amazing new stuff we’ve seen, this skin included. I’ve made this point before so I’ll spare you the rehash. Great skin, Riot. Now go fix Magnificent Twisted Fate.
Blitzcrank fans have a reason to celebrate today – Piltover Customs Blitzcrank was added to the store today, as was Samurai Master Yi. As an added bonus, Chosen Yi is now down to 520 RP, permanently. The Crank skin is indeed his legendary, pricing out at 1820 RP.
Personally, I’ll be passing on the Blitz skin. I really like Boom Boom Blitzcrank – been waiting for a sale on that one (I think I missed the last). The hotrod theme just doesn’t do it for me, personally. I might get the Yi skin on a sale day, but I love my Chosen Yi and I always have Assassin Yi as a backup. We’ll see.
The perpetrator appears to be Gentleman Cho’Gath, a long rumored/desired skin for your favorite alien champ. The post included a crude sketch of Cho in a top hat and tuxedo with a monocle and a cane. Personally, I love the skin idea, though I wouldn’t be surprised to see it release with a fairly hefty price tag.
Speaking of hefty price tags (nice segue, no?), Riot also announced another legendary skin: Red Baron Corki. Why Corki needs two legendary skins is completely beyond me, but maybe he’s just easy to remodel. The skin drops our fearless pilot into a red biplane. It actually looks really damn cool, and one of the screenshots even featured Gentleman Cho, albeit in badly photoshopped form.
I’m assuming we’ll see Corki in the Shen patch, but it’ll probably be some time before we get the Gentleman. Now I just need to try and win a couple tourneys for the Riot points to buy that overpriced Corki skin.
