This was just the third Fearless Gamer LoL Monday, but we managed to get five people together and hop on a public vent for a little fun. It was a good time, despite a few losses, and it was nice to have some new people involved.
Our first game played like a warmup match. I know I wasn’t paying close enough attention to what was going on, and we were doing more breeze-shooting than strategizing. It was a quick and fairly painless loss. Our second game we steamrolled to a win with a really fun teamfighting comp. We had Zebano on Amumu, Bojamba on Nasus, Everett on Nunu, Holden McRoin on Ashe, and myself on Zilean. The other team had a very solid Kennen, but we got to a point that we could blow up their whole team and only lose one of us, max. It helped that our opponents were constantly checking brush with their faces, even though they had a few skillshots.
Our last game went a lot like the first. We started okay, but I wasn’t paying close enough attention at champion select and neglected to tell Zebano who to grab for me for a switch. He hard randomed a third tank and it was pretty much over from there.
All in all, though, a good night. If you’re around next Monday, jump into the chat room “Fearless Gamer” (they’ve apparently changed things so now it is case sensitive) and get to know some of the other players who read here.
We missed two weeks due to my move and my unpacking, but I’m finally settled in the new place and ready to get back into some games with everyone here. Monday night, 9:30 EST, anyone and everyone is welcome to come along and play. Depending on the number of people we have well either spend some time in the queues or play some in-house games. Whatever the case, we’ve had fun in our first two outings so hopefully the third will be the same.
If you’re interested in playing, log on around 9:30 on Monday night and join the chat room. I think we should change it to Fearless Gamer for simplicity’s sake. Just click on your friends list, hit the door icon at the bottom of that little window, and type ‘Fearless Gamer’ into the box. I’ll still keep the FG LoL Mondays room open until we’ve made the switch. You can also add me in game at “The Wiggin Boy.” Hope to see you Monday!
I mentioned this to a few of you during the week this week but I wanted to make sure to let everyone know. Fearless Gamer LoL Mondays will be off this week. I’m moving the majority of my apartment tomorrow evening and finishing up on Tuesday. As such, I’m out for this week.
Of course, you guys are welcome to get together as you please, and I’d actually recommend it. The last two weeks have been a lot of fun and I think we’ve had a solid mix of veteran players and young blood alike. So please, fire up your own games and keep the (still new) tradition alive. If you can’t get enough players together, I’ll be back the following week for a night of fun.
Another success this evening. We got in a very brutal game against some green players in 5v5 ranked game. Right after that first game, though, the chat servers bombed in a big way. Once I finally reconnected I still couldn’t join chat rooms and I started to chain disconnect from that point forward. I think we’re gonna have to call it for the night.
