Hyena Warwick on the way

Hyena Warwick.

I have to give credit where credit is due. Bloodybunny, who reads here and plays with us on Monday nights, scoped this story a few days before it hit the forums. He sent me a message the other day saying he expected a legendary Warwick skin, based on the remakes to Warwick’s animations. Wouldn’t you know, we’re now looking at a teaser for Hyena Warwick. Good call, Bunny.

It looks like Hyena Warwick is in the works. I know I say this every time we see a legendary release, but I still have trouble understanding why Riot continues to release legendary skins. I guess people are still buying them. The only problem I have with it is that Riot willfully devalues legendary skins by releasing skins of equal or higher quality for half the RP. Those skins eventually go on sale, cutting the price in half again. It gets pretty tough to justify spending the 1820 RP with that scenario.

LoL: Unconfirmed skins on the Test Realm

Red Riding Hood. The most recent Test Realm patch has some interesting content in the champions screen on the client. Several of the champions have skins listed with no graphic content, just some names. Here’s the rundown:

Red Riding Annie
Big Bad Warwick
Warrior Princess Sivir
Scuba Gragas

That’s what I can remember for now. I like the Red Riding Hood theme and I’ve honestly been waiting on it for a while. I could care less about the Sivir skin if only because she’s the most boring, auto-win toon in the game. Scuba Gragas, though, sounds awesome.

On a side note, googling “Red Riding Hood” for images turns up some…interesting…results.

LoL: The demise of Urf

Urf the Manatee skin.I think we all knew something was up when it came to Urf the Manatee. Riot was toying with us, I could just feel it. But why populate the announcements forum with so much crap about a fake hero? Enter Urf the Manatee skin for Warwick. Yes, Urf the Manatee lives on in a Warwick skin that costs 5,000 RP. Lucky for us, he’s on sale for 99 percent off – just 50 RP!

Here’s the story behind the skin:

Unfortunately, today, the story of Urf Day took a tragic turn, for as Urf was swimming along, dutifully guarding the river in the Summoner’s Rift, he met with a tragic demise. Eye-witness accounts have been unreliable at best, but everyone seems to agree that just before it happened a blue streak was seen darting out of the nearby jungle. A great clamor ensued, followed by the doleful screams of a manatee done wrong. In the end, all that was left of this brave prince amongst sea cows was his skin… and even that was stolen by this most nefarious of perpetrators.

Now any good story needs a moral. So if there’s anything that the story of Urf Day and the story of the Big Bad Wolf have in common, it’s this: deep within every wolf, there is a cunning master of disguise just waiting to get out. Take Warwick, for instance; a giant, bloodthirsty werewolf able to cunningly adapt by blending into even the most innocent of surroundings. He could be anywhere at any time… behind a rock, in the brush, in the jungle, or cleverly masquerading as a lovable, spatula-wielding manatee.

Enjoy Urf Day everyone. If I can fix my internet any time soon I’ll do the same.
