Halo 3:ODST Gets A Mini-Game From The ilovebees Developer

ilovebees page.We haven’t heard much lately from 42 Entertainment, the company beyond the viral Halo 2 marketing game, “ilovebees.” It looks like some of their former team members have new work, though, and it’s back with Bungie. Fourth Wall Studios, which is made up of some former 42E folks, is developing a mini-game for Halo 3:ODST called Sadie’s Story.

The game takes place in New Mombassa, after the Covenant invasion but before the arrival of the ODSTs. As the name implies, the story follows Sadie, a resident of New Mombassa, and her adventures in a new city. The mini-game is meant to augment the main story-line, but unfortunately Bungie won’t say much else.

All signs indicate the mini-game will be available on release, so no DLC here. As I’m sure you’ve already marked on your calendars, ODST hits stores September 22nd.

Telltale Wants To Get Serious

Telltale CEO Dan Connors. As VG247 has it, Telltale games is looking to announce some more serious games this October. They’ve made a name for themselves with extremely popular and often hilarious comedy adventure games like Sam & Max and, of course, The Tales Of Monkey Island.

“I think there’ll be some combination of things. I think we’ll be sticking with some of the franchises we’ve worked with, and we’ll be announcing some new franchises, probably in some new genres as well, not just comedy.” That’s from Dan Connors, Telltale’s CEO. Connors also cited TV shows like Lost, The Sopranos, and True Blood, saying that the psychological connection and drama was something viewers really enjoyed – something he thinks gamers would like as well.

Whatever their next project, I can’t wait to hear more. Monkey Island has long been a favorite of mine, and I love what Telltale does. Hopefully they’ll keep up the good work.

Wii Fit Plus Out Oct. 4th For $19.99

Wii Fit Plus.Nintendo prez Reggie Fils-Aime stopped by the GameStop Manager Conference to announce details for Wii Fit Plus, the latest in Nintendo’s exercise game series. The new title is really an expansion of the first, hopefully adding more hula-hooping goodness to the existing game.

For thsoe of you who already own Wii Fit, the Plus version will run you a cool $19.99, and it’s available October 4th. If you don’t already own the game but want to see Nintendo continue to make money off this crazy game, Wii Fit Plus will be replacing the original version of the game at $99.99. That includes a Wii Fit Board and the new title. The new bundle will also be available October 4th.

Get More Monkey Island For Wii On Monday

Tales of Monkey IslandMonday marks the release of Chapter 2 in the revamped Tales of Monkey Island series, The Siege of Spinner Cay. This next installment continues the often hilarious adventures of Guybrush Threepwood and his search for love and acceptance.

The game has been out for PC for several weeks now, which is still a shorter release gap than with Chapter 1. As with the original, Chapter 2 will run you 1,000 Wii Points. For some strange reason, Telltale is also encouraging you to consider buying an SD card from Amazon. It’s a strange plug to see in a press release but hey, who doesn’t love a little ad money.

Just so we’re clear, the 31st is an American release date only. As the press release mentions, the European version is imminent but as of yet undated.

Amazon Germany Lists 250GB Xbox 360 Elite

Amazon Germany shows 250GB Xbox 360 Elite.Since Sony announced the PS3 Slim, Microsoft has been fighting to gain some press coverage, and it’s a fight they intend to win. In the latest Redmond leak, an Engadget tipster found a 250GB Xbox 360 Elite bundled with two controllers and Forza 3 (which you’ll recall also isn’t out yet), all for €280.

The bundle, which translates to about $400, is a pretty sweet deal. Granted, you no longer get that HDMI cable, but you will get two controllers and what looks to be a great game along with some extra hard drive space. Honestly, the hard drive space doesn’t thrill me. Sure, it’s nice for adding movies and downloading games, but this is something Microsoft should have done years ago.

The best news of it all may be that some intrepid hackers will find new ways to use the extra space. If you aren’t aware, the current 360 hardware only allows connections from the specific size hard drives Microsoft sells. It is possible to hack together your own HDD, but you’re maxed out at 120GB, which is truly pathetic. Though doubtful, the update could mean Microsoft has lifted that restriction.
