This week Halo 3 did something that’s never been done on any Xbox console. The newest release in Bungie’s futuristic franchise (not counting upcoming titles, of course) has sold 10 million units worldwide, making it the 35th game in history to do so and the first on an Xbox console.
The report comes from VGChartz and goes on to cite some less surprising milestones. Did you know Halo 3 was the highest selling single-platform game of the current generation? Of course you did. What on earth would outsell it? Adding PS3 and 360 sales together, though, puts COD4 and GTA:IV above Halo 3. Again, not surprising.
Halo is bound to keep improving on the milestone as prices drop in the face of the Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach releases.
