I know this is going to come as a shock, but the Riven patch has been officially delayed by 24 hours. It remains unclear what caused the delay, whether or not this will affect the end of Season One (though I would bet it will), and whether or not there’s a plan in place if ELOs decay tomorrow.
Here’s the official quote from RiotRara in a post made late Monday night/early Tuesday morning:
Our release team has confirmed that an extra 24 hours is needed to ensure quality release. There will be no downtime tonight for the Riven patch. We are sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
Needless to say the forums are displeased, as I think they have every right to be. This is incredibly late notice for what was supposed to be a substantial patch. Hopefully we’ll hear more from Riot tomorrow.

eh everyone gets so high strung around patch time, the forums are always ablaze with entitlement complexes, im just glad its on the horizon. from what i can gather on the forums there are some pretty big changes comeing through and im not just talking riven and additional dominion elements.
from the forum buzz shen, olaf, sivir, kassadin, sion are all slated for buff in either this patch or the up and comeing and those are only the changes we know about, its gonna be huge! the way i see it every time a patch is pushed back last minute it means there trying to squeeze something extra in.

I’m sorry that I can do nothing but laugh at this statement. These ‘big changes’ have been promised for over a year, and waiting for it is getting old. I love League of Legends, but I am quickly becoming disillusioned with Riot. They hype the heck out of something, then completely drop the topic and leave the players stranded, waiting for more information and desperate to know when we will get {insert promise here).
When was the last time Riot even mentioned the Magma Chamber (which they hyped the heck out of)? What’s going on with Dominion?
People are getting more and more pissed because Riot announced information way too early. Dominion was apparently not ready to be announced when they did, and now they are paying the price. Delaying the Season One closing was not an adequate way of hiding the fact that Dominion is also delayed!
These Champion changes you also mention are so minor. Every patch they tweak champions. This patch is not going to be “huge” it is going to have a new champion, and some tweaks, and maybe, if we are lucky, some more dominion data for the impending release in 3-100 weeks.
